The library of the Instituto Cervantes in Sydney

The library of Instituto Cervantes in Sydney is open from the 19th June 2010, Spanish Language Day.

The library offers free access to its facilities. The library’s services will be available to any user throughout Australia. Network of libraries of the Instituto Cervantes

Its goal is to promote the teaching and use of Spanish as a second language, and to contribute to the advancement of Spanish and Hispanic American culture in non-Spanish speaking countries.

At the library of the Instituto Cervantes in Sydney you will find:

  • A reference centre for the Spanish language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world.
  • A resource centre for learning Spanish in all its diversity.
  • A place for the promotion of Hispanic culture in Sydney and Australia
  • An indispensable source of information for every Sydneysider with an interest in Hispanic culture.
  • A personalised information service on any queries related to the language and culture of the Spanish-speaking world.
  • A comfortable reading room with the latest periodicals and audiovisual equipment for viewing videos and DVDs.

Opening hours

Monday - Thursday*: from 11am to 1pm and from 2.30pm to 5pm
Friday: from 10am to 2pm
Saturday: from 9.30am to 1.30pm
(*) From 1pm to 2:30pm the library is closed
