The Cervantes Institute in Sydney is the only cultural centre endorsed by the Government of Spain in Australia. Studying Spanish at our centre offers you the opportunity to meet and discover the different cultures of the Hispanic world.

 Native teachers

All our teachers are Spanish native speakers, university graduates, specialize in the teaching of ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) and passionate about the Spanish language.

 Day, evening and Saturday classes

The Instituto Cervantes offers morning and evening courses from Monday to Saturday. Students can choose courses based on their free time.

 Choice of courses

One-, two- and three-month general Spanish language courses. We also offer special courses in conversation, literature, DELE, Fast Track...

 Current methodology and friendly environment

Our teachers use the latest teaching methods as directed by the Council of Europe. Communication in Spanish is the objective of our courses, and therefore students will be encouraged, from day one, to use the language actively.

In addition, the Instituto Cervantes offers a friendly atmosphere with a library and classrooms equipped with the latest technology (whiteboard, internet access, etc.).

 Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE)

The DELE diplomas are the only official titles of international character accrediting the domain of the Spanish language. These Diplomas are granted by the Ministry of Education of Spain. You can take and prepare for the DELE exam at the Instituto Cervantes in Sydney.

 Free access to AVE (Spanish Virtual Classroom - AVE)

Students attending general courses have free access to AVE (on-line learning courses). 

  Prime location

The Cervantes Institute is located in the heart of the academic and cultural area of Sydney, directly opposite the University of Sydney, close to the Universities of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Notre Dame University, just 200 meters from Seymour Cultural Centre and 100 meters from Broadway Shopping Centre.

 Free Library Card

Students have free access to the library (only during the course in which they have enrolled), where they can consult or borrow Spanish books, CDs, DVDs and magazines usually hard to find elsewhere.

 Cultural Activities

The students of the Instituto Cervantes in Sydney can participate in the cultural activities organized throughout the year. Thanks to our native teachers and our cultural activities our students will not only learn Spanish but experience the language and culture.
